What is “Burn On” and how do I know if it applies to me?

“Burn-On” is a term coined by psychiatrist Dr. Bert te Wildt to describe a state of chronic overwork and hidden exhaustion. Unlike classic burn-out, you keep functioning and performing, but inside you feel depleted, tense, and disconnected from joy or meaning. If you’re always “on,” but rarely feel truly alive or rested, you’re in the right place.

What makes you different from  coaches or therapists?

I’ve lived both worlds: the rigor of scientific research and the complexity of human emotion.

My approach is evidence-based, but always human. I don’t offer quick fixes or generic advice. I walk beside you, helping you reconnect with your own strength, clarity, and purpose, so you can thrive, not just perform.

What happens during the first call?

The first call is a real conversation, no pressure, no sales pitch. I’ll listen to your story, your challenges, and your goals.

You can ask me anything about my approach, the science behind it, or what to expect. By the end, you’ll know if this journey feels right for you.

What does the assessment involve?

After you enroll, we begin with scientific, credible and validated questionnaires.

Together, we’ll look at several interconnected bio-psycho-social parameters; including your vitality, your work-life dynamic, your sense of coherence, and how you experience performance.

This gives us a clear, objective starting point and helps you monitor your progress over time.

It’s not about judgment, it’s about understanding where you are, so we can chart the best path forward together.

How long does it take to feel better?

Many clients experience a spark of awareness and relief right from the initial questionnaires, just by seeing their experience reflected back with clarity. After the first workshop, there’s often a sense of hope and possibility.

The real shift, though, is gradual and rooted in practice. As you learn to create your own “container of safety” in the first two sessions, you plant the seed for feeling safe again, both in your mind and your body.

Well-being starts to emerge by the end of the 6-week journey, and the most profound, concrete life changes often unfold over the following months. This work is about realignment, not quick fixes. It’s a life-changing process that continues to open new possibilities long after our sessions end.

What are your fees? Is this covered by insurance?

I believe that real change comes from practice, not just insight. That’s why I offer a 20% reimbursement of your program fee after completion of all the “Try Me” exercises.

This work might be challenging, and it asks you to show up for yourself in new ways, but it’s worth it.

Currently, my services are not covered by Swiss basic health insurance. However, I can provide invoices for supplementary insurance or company reimbursement if your organization supports professional development.

Is this confidential? Will my employer or team know I’m working with you?

Confidentiality is absolute. Nothing you share will be disclosed to anyone, your employer, your team, or anyone else without your explicit consent.

I’m not sure if my problem is “serious enough.” Should I still reach out?

Yes. You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit. Many of my clients are high performers who simply feel something is “off,” fatigue, loss of motivation, or a sense of emptiness despite success. If you’re asking the question, it’s worth a conversation.

What if I want to help my team after my own journey?

Many leaders who start this journey for themselves later choose to bring it to their teams. When you feel ready, I can help you design a science-based, human-centered program for your organization.
There’s no obligation, just possibility.

I’m hesitant to reach out. Is that normal?

Absolutely. Research shows that most people hesitate to ask for help, even when they need it most.
In his book 'All You Have to Do Is Ask: How to Master the Most Important Skill for Success', researcher Wayne Baker explains that our reluctance is often rooted in habit, fear of vulnerability, or simply not knowing where to start.

You’re not alone in this. If you prefer, you can begin by writing me a message or email there’s no pressure, no judgment, just a safe space to begin.

Taking the first step is often the hardest, but it’s also the most important.

If you have a question that’s not listed here, please reach out.
There are no “wrong” questions, only the first step toward clarity.
